This Way..... by Harkill This Way..... by Harkill
Lex-Berg and I had a conversation about No.4 and he concluded that to make up for his disadvantages in Hell as a short person, I should draw him more... and preferably in color, hahaha, so I promised to do so as soon as I had more time! And BAM here it is!! It was funny that he mentioned it, because even if I like no.4 a lot, he's always kind of forgotten. No.1 likes to be the center of attention in my artworks I suppose... That arrogant bastard...

Anyway, enjoy!

To read HeLL(P):

Just noticed he has no eyebrows. Like a punky Marilyn Manson. And... sock garters? What the hell, Harkill? :D
Now even I feel like making fun of him.

Hahahaha!! NOOO DON'T GO TO THE DARK SIDE AND MAKE FUN OF HIIIIM!! you're his only hoooope! Hahaha, no seriously, what's wrong with sock garters, they are awesome! And I mean, look at those legs, they need them... they are just made for them... (On the serious note I have no idea, it's just... too fascinating to remove them, it's part of his style yo!)

And I'm sure there's some eyebrows there, you just.. can't... see them... they're like really small ono

Ok, ok, I'll be polite and pretend I don't see them. Lest he stab me with his fork. But IMO, sock garters are for old people. Maybe it's just me, but when I think sock garters, I immediately imagine some old sandal-wearing Benny-Hill-type geezer in traumatically short shorts. Not some badass-looking twentysomething. I assume that's how old he is.

Hahahaha I know, but that's what's so cool, when someone not as old as old people wear it!(And hehehehehe, he's a bit older than that =u= )

I just love the contrast, and messing up people's associations with things.... Before you know it, you'll thing they are COOL!

Thank you for keeping your promises! I have a feeling all pictures of him are going to end up in my favorites. Love it. Is it too soon to ask for more? ^^'

Judging by the color of the sky, I suppose it's an early morning. And judging by his expression, he's not a morning person. Considering it's 6AM right now, seeing his face feels like looking into a mirror.

So what's the story here? It looks like he's in a military camp, planning an invasion. "We will attack from the south-east..."

Haha! I'm sure I'll draw him more, but for now, I'll leave you with this! Hehe ~

And hahaha, that's just a really funny thing to imagine, you two looking at each other with the exact same expression. I've never thought about wether he's a morning-person or not, I just think that's kind of his default-face, but maybe you're right? No.1 always gets up really early and maybe it wakes him up, it would make sense... (At least he's not as bad as Marcus who's like a teenager, sleeps the whole day if no one wakes him up...)

And myehehehehe *rubs hands* It's actually kind of a hint of where the plot will go later on, I think they'll be on this stage in chapter three. Maybe they're planning an attack? Or maybe they're simply on a summer-holiday? WHO KNOWS! NOT ME!!! (Ok maybe I do.... ok I promise I do...)
It must be so annoying with all the "WHO KNOWS" and well, MAYBE! but I feel so powerful, hehehehe

Default face, you say? Interesting. Because it's the face of someone who is surrounded by idiots. And yes, I get the impression that you're enjoying all this teasing quite a bit. However, even just a hint is still better than nothing. Especially when updates are only once a week. Agh, is it Friday yet?

And what's with the fork? In another picture you mentioned it being his "main weapon". Is it just a gag or is there a story behind it? There probably is. And my crystal ball tells me your answer is gonna be extremely vague.

This comment just made me laugh out loud which is weird because I never do, it just described his face too perfectly xD Because he IS surrounded by idiots.... Ok not all of them, but I think sometimes he just wonders if there is any hope at all..... And YES I AM enjoying it a lot =u= Though it's fun to tell too because well... both ckirean and I have spent MANY HOURS talking about these things! And not everything can be revealed in the story either, so sometimes it's just fun sharing the ideas and backstories that might never be told in the story..... (though it's still too early to know for sure what's gonna be left out )

And hahaha, I'm very tempted to give you a vague answer now =u= But nah, the fork is... literally his weapon... (And he has more than one) I'm not sure why.... He's a bit weird sometimes... o_o I realize that now...

A fork is an excellent weapon. Russians have a joke which goes "There's no better weapon than a fork: one hit — four holes". Sounds better in Russian 'cause it rhymes. Someone should put it on a T-shirt and give it to our little fork wielder.

And I know what you mean. A couple of years ago my friend and I wanted to make a web-comic, too. I was the writer so creating the characters was my responsibility. I thought about everything — from their backstories and personalities to what they like to put on a toast. So I know that what is shown in the artwork is only the tip of the iceberg. Hence all these questions. And if you don't stop me, we'll eventually find ourselves on the 100th page of comments discussing No.4's favorite cereal or something.

haha cool! I haven't heard that saying before. It's true though! (And cool you know russian?)

Haha, I know, ckirean and I have been talking so much about characters, for this concept and other stories too. What I have learned though, is that it's good to know your characters, but sometimes it's also fun to keep details unknown, even to yourself, especially if it's not relevant to the story. A good story doesn't tell EVERYTHING, then eventually you'll get bored by the characters. it's important to keep people curious, and also it makes it even more fun when you find out new things about them yourself during the story! We know a lot about the characters for Hellp, but at the same time, there are things we only "imagine" or "wonder about", but we haven't decided it 100% yet.

Yes, I'm fluent in Russian, so should you ever need a translator, don't hesitate to ask me.

Interesting point. It's true that you shouldn't tell everything, but I've always felt I have to at least know everything. Even if I'm the only one who does. I tend to over-analyze things, so it never even crossed my mind to leave things unknown. Then again, what you said about getting bored with your own characters sounds quite plausible. Hmm. This could very well be a valuable lesson for me. Thanks, Harkill.

Ah, that's good to know! Hehe ~ *rubs hands*

And haha, yeah, it's just something I've realized after a while.... Especially when it comes to lesser important characters in a story. The more you know them, the more you want to show about them and then it's easy to miss the point of the actual story, you get too caught up in all the characters instead of making it all flow. Then again to people who aren't planning to use their characters to things other than fun and roleplaying it doesn't really matter. These are just things I've noticed myself after actually putting characters into stories and actually working on the stories...
